Measuring for Your Perfect Pant Fit
Precise measurements are essential for exceptional tailoring. Using a flexible tape measure, follow the guidelines below. Accuracy ensures your trousers will drape elegantly and move comfortably. Our master tailors will refine these measurements during construction.
1. Waist
Measure horizontally around your natural waistline—the narrowest point of your torso, typically at or just above the navel. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and comfortably snug. This measurement determines the trouser's waistband circumference.
2. Hips
Measure horizontally around the fullest part of your seat, approximately 7–9 inches below the waistline. Stand with feet together and maintain an upright posture. This dimension ensures proper room through the seat and thighs.
3. Length
Inseam: Measure vertically from the crotch seam down the inner leg to the top of your ankle bone.
Outseam: Measure vertically from the top of the waistband down the outer leg to the top of your ankle bone.
Take measurements while wearing the shoes intended for your suit—heel height directly affects finished length.
